Peter Levine started developing Somatic Experiencing 50 years ago and his work has gone from strength to strength. Somatic body work in various forms is now everywhere. Peter wrote the foreword to this book. Efu tells the story of the Snail Clan in Tanzania where she comes from and how that people would use snails to heal wounds. She developed that wisdom along with other strands – especially the two mentioned in the book’s title – to help women in her community to heal trauma, and she now does the same work in Brazil.
