BREAKING DOWN IS WAKING UP by Russell Razzaque

by: Russell Razzaque

There is so much being spoken now about the outward psychological crisis, which is actually a spiritual transformation. This is one of the earlier mainstream books on the subject, written by an eminent London-based psychologist and one of the pioneers in the field in this country. Russell is in a strong position to look at this phenomenon from the scientific angle and he has lots to say about human development and how that might have an impact later on during the crisis. Unlike other authors, he has not himself undergone such a crisis but all his work as a mental health professional has enabled him to come up with similar penetrating insights on how to negotiate one. He has a masterful overview of all the different therapies available, plus deep experience in meditation within the Buddhist tradition, and as a consequence the book is both wise and compassionate.
