Cygnus Books, part of Watkins Media Limited is seeking a Sales & Customer Service Assistant to take orders, liaise with our customers & advertisers, and support the editor of the Cygnus Review, the UK’s leading spiritual book club. This position offers great exposure across all aspects of selling books direct to people who are looking to make a positive change in their lives. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to help people directly, who has a love of books in general and who is eager to learn about the bookselling business. Above all, it’s an ideal position for someone who is personally interested in the Mind Body Spirit field.

Reporting to the Editor you will be based in our Central London office.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Answer calls and respond to correspondence from members wishing to place orders and provide customer support
  • Manage our relationship with our warehouse to monitor stock control
  • Finalise and record all advertising enquiries and orders
  • Assist the editor in the selection of titles for our quarterly magazine mailing
  • Manage the database of members, including creating the lists for our mailings and sending letters to new and existing members
  • Managing the social media and newsletters for Cygnus

Key Skills:

  • Prior customer service or sales experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced/high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work independently and travel when needed
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with the Google Cloud Suite of programmes as well as MS Office would be an advantage

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £18,000.00 to £19,000.00 /year
