BECOME WHAT YOU ARE by Alan Watts

by: Alan Watts

I think if you like Alan Watts, you tend to go even further and love most of what he says. The way he carries his learning so lightly means for me that you come away from his books feeling more secure in the world and much wiser. A lot of my knowledge of Eastern thought and religion can be traced directly back to him and I think it’s great that he is relatively fashionable now. He wrote a lot of books in his lifetime but he died in 1973 and this book – like many others – consist of articles he wrote in publications like The Middle Way or are transcripts of radio talks he gave. These chapters cover the principle of seeing life “just as it is”, in the Taoist manner, but across many religions. It includes a preface by his son, Mark.
