BRAIN CODE by Yossi Chalamish

by: Yossi Chalamish

This is a good introduction from a medical doctor and clinical neuroscience researcher to how the brain works. It’s great to know that the author is so experienced and knowledgeable in the field, but he also writes in a way that a lay reader can follow with ease. It’s intended to be a self-help book as well and it’s packed full of techniques and tips that will help with sleeping better, reducing stress and keeping the brain healthy hopefully to ward off cognitive decline in later years. On the other hand it is interesting to read that we are actually meant to forget certain things just to help us survive (more importantly when we were hunter gatherers) so in this case a certain amount of forgetfulness is nothing to worry about. It’s both fascinating and practical.
