ELECTROMAGNETIC BRAIN by Shelli Renee Joye

by: Shelli Renee Joye

Science traditionally struggles with subjective awareness and the nature of consciousness. The author looks at the possibilities for electricity in the form of electromagnetic fields being the living consciousness that runs through the brain. She does this by explicating and examining twelve of the most credible theories on the subject. The book comes with praise from Rupert Sheldrake and Ervin Laszlo, who are also two of the scientists whose theories are considered. The text is demanding but not too academic, and overall it’s an enjoyable and stimulating read. The author goes on to explore practical applications of these theories and how contemporary brain stimulation devices can lead to all sorts of positive outcomes for humanity. The author is a trained scientist who also has a great deal of experience in the contemplative traditions.
