JOURNEYS WITH PLANT SPIRITS by Emma Farrell

Emma is a shamanic teacher, healer and geomancer who lives in Powys. Her book is highly praised by Fay Johnstone, author of Plants That Speak Souls That Sing, so it’s in that tradition of meeting the plants on a shamanic, spiritual level. There’s also a great quote by Philip Carr-Gomm, who calls it an “invaluable text for all those called to explore their magical connection to the plant kingdom”. The first part of the book tells us how to prepare ourselves to meet the different plants. Then the later chapters give us some plants that we can work with, depending on what we are seeking: for example there’s mugwort for self-awareness, dandelion for resolve and rosemary for memory. Each chapter contains at least one meditation, suggested technique or ritual to be used to make contact. The author also suggests ways of making teas or tinctures to use alongside the journey.
