This is a wonderful book that’s so inspiring. It’s not long but it’s full of profound wisdom and plenty of comfort. At the same time the author, who is a rabbi in Los Angeles, doesn’t shy from looking head-on at suffering and loss, and the effects they have on relatives and other loved ones. Compassion shines out of every page and you put the book down full of admiration for the human race and people’s ability to survive and thrive in the face of terrible suffering. Sooner or later every one of us will have to walk through hell. It can’t be avoided but I hope this book makes the experience easier to handle.
