This is a lovely full-colour book that would make a nice gift or basic home reference. It lists 200 different plants, herbs, fruit and other foodstuffs that have healing properties and can be used as part of a healthy living regime. It outlines all their characteristics and properties and also suggests the best way that they can be used, be it via a poultice, salve or decoction, or just by plain eating. Every entry carries an attractive picture of the foodstuff and many of them have a recipe for making the best use of it, be it ashwagandha, nettles, cashews or oranges. Finally there is a straightforward ailment index at the back. There are of course other books that go into these subjects to a much greater depth but this one is a very good place to start.
