NO RECIPE by Edward Espe Brown

by: Edward Espe Brown

The subtitle of this book is “cooking as a spiritual practice”. Edward wrote the groundbreaking “Tassajara Bread Book” which came out in 1970 and for several years he was the founding chef at the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center in California, founded by Shunryu Suzuki, author of “Zen Mind Beginner’s Mind”. Of course he helped to create tasty food, but Zen cooking also includes how you chop your vegetables, and your inner approach to cooking. So this – as suggested – contains no recipes, but instead is replete with teaching
stories and wise advice on how to create delicious food, and how to live a rich and fulfilled life. It’s a warm and quirky book…
