This is a lovely deck: the packaging is attractive and elegant, the cards feel really smooth in your hands and the images on the cards are enigmatic and brightly coloured. It is a deck that’s imbued with feminine energy and a great majority of the human figures on the cards are female. The Minor Arcana cards almost all have images on them and stories to tell and they are not especially guided by the Rider Waite deck created by Pamela Colman Smith. The cards all have keywords woven into their design which makes it easier for a beginner to interpret them. Cat Pierce has added two extra cards to the Major Arcana: the Mother Star and the Creator. So perhaps it’s not a deck for the purist but I do think it’s ideal for a beginner or someone who’s really into art, especially a young woman.
