YEAR OF MYSTICAL THINKING by Emma Howarth

by: Emma Howarth

This is not a heavy esoteric title and it’s written in a very “colour magazine” sort of way, but it’s still a valuable book. The author is a journalist and of course she writes very well, but she is also deeply spiritual. She’s British and the book has a definite UK feel. It’s about a terrible year in her life and how she recovered from it using the tools she had already had around her, like tarot, meditation, incense and reiki. It’s about her quest for recovery and meaning without travelling very far. I found it uplifting and encouraging – as I said it’s not for “old hands” in spirituality, but it’s ideal for people who like a good story, who don’t want anything too heavy and who like lots of anecdotes and funny stories in the books they read. Hopefully it will help us all rediscover the magic in our lives.
