This wonderful full-colour book is ideal for the spiritual seeker who wants to explore the area around them or is going to a new place and wants to know the best locations to visit nearby. It includes an introduction by journalist and author Sir Simon Jenkins, expert on Britain’s churches and cathedrals. It covers England, Wales and Scotland in great detail county by county, and also includes all the traditional pilgrimage routes on this island. Sites include churches, cathedrals, ruins, wells, stones and crosses. The text is descriptive and enthusiastic and directions to each site are comprehensive. It’s such an attractive book with such great colour photographs that I would happily read it, even if I had no intention of travelling anywhere.
