Jesse Sternberg is both a dog trainer and a mindfulness teacher, and this book is clearly as much committed to amending the dog’s human companion’s behaviour, as it is to changing the dog. Are you aware of the body signals through which your dog shares his or her perspective of the world with you? Understanding the language of your pet allows you to communicate better and naturally transform your dog into a calm, relaxed companion for life. Using case studies that resonate with every pet owner and dog lover, Jesse explains how most of our pets' issues arise from intense feelings. Combining mindfulness teachings with animal psychology, Jesse suggests training exercises and powerful meditative practices to do with your pet as well as on your own to help build a calm and peaceful mindset for both your dog and yourself.

Our world is full of books on all aspects of spiritual teaching, from the serious academic to the borderline flaky, but now, suddenly, this little book appears like a jewel in the rock face of inspirational literature. Throughout his long and challenging life Russel Williams has been quietly dispersing his unique teachings to small groups, seeking no recognition or reward, just quietly changing lives. Now, well into his 90s, he has agreed to allow Steve Taylor to put together and publish both the story of his life and the essence of his teachings. Russel Williams received almost no education, after attending 17 different schools he finally left and started work at the age of 11. So this is no formal doctrine, but the freshness and clarity of thought that arises from the creativity of an empty mind. A jewel of a book to read from cover to cover, then read all over again.

Kyle is a much-loved author at Cygnus. He has done a number of decks already but this I think is the first that doesn’t involve angels or representations of beings of any kind. Instead they are mostly doorways, windows and wonderful mystical symbols. They are in his usual otherworldly style – painted by Jennifer Hawkyard, who also created the Angel Guide Oracle with him – and just hold the promise of “the beyond”. They are genuinely beautiful and draw you in: images include Annunaki Light Codes, The Divine Matrix, Higher Heart Activation and Sirius Star Blessings. It’s a way of bridging to other realms, to that which is beyond. It’s also called an Oracle and the book enclosed give suggestions for use, but for me it’s best as a vision of the cosmos on a broader and more radiant level. It’s an exciting and inspiring deck.
