Dr Mercola is the author of Cygnus bestseller EMF*D and many other instructive titles about health self-care, and Ronnie Cummins is the founder and director of the Organic Consumers Association. As you would expect, this book is a warning about Covid-19 and a call to be sceptical about some of the accounts we are being fed from the mainstream. It contains 37 pages of notes and references. The authors call this “the fight of our lives” against manipulation by big business and media companies. Cygnus doesn’t endorse this book but the information is well backed up and it’s important to make space for voices like this who aren’t urging insurrection but just encouraging us to make up our own minds and take control of our own destinies. A lot of Cygnus readers are nonconformist and at least with Dr Mercola we are getting an alternative narrative from a trusted source. DUE IN LATE APRIL

Unlike England On Fire also featured in the summer review, this gazetteer of sites includes the whole of Great Britain, plus all the small islands lying off its coast. It lists 650 magical locations all around us, with directions for how to find them, history and description of the site and stories and legends associated with it. Most importantly, every place has at least one colour photograph accompanying it, taken by the author himself, which gives us an idea of what we are going to see and encourages us to get excited about it and feel some of its magic before we actually get there. There are caves, wells, megaliths, old churches, Hills, valleys and carvings. They range in location from suburban London to the Outer Hebrides, and they serve as a reminder that the whole country can be seen as a web of magical energy. It transforms what’s around us from the mundane into the transformative; plus these are great places to visit any time.

Janet Neville is a channel for spirit and Steve Bridger helps transcribe those words and put them into context. They previously collaborated on the book Being Spirit. Here they use the guidance of spirit to show us how to live life on this side, as spirit in material form, which is what we are. In the second part of the book we are shown what life looks like on the other side. It includes many direct quotations from spirit that are both detailed and hopeful. There are also some lovely stories of soul rescue for people and animals who have had trouble crossing over. No matter what your stance on mediumship might be – and ultimately it’s best to have no stance – these are constructive teachings full of hope and possibilities, that make us more positive and effective as human beings in our daily lives.
