Her technique is to get us to have conversations with ourselves, with all the voices we have within us, one by one, out loud. She tells us that saying it out loud helps us focus on each conversation, listen to and adjust the tone of voice we’re using, and transform emotions and feelings into actual spoken words that can be discussed and dealt with. Her book shows us how best to do this, with exercises at the end of each chapter and the use of meditation and affirmations to complement the process. It’s a step-by-step approach, and the tone is encouraging and supportive.
