This title has many similarities to one of our bestselling books of recent Cygnus Reviews: Poems to Make the Soul Sing. It’s more of a book about the act of writing and reading poetry, even though it does include many poems by great names such as Issa, Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Frost. It’s a charming book, just the right size to slip in your pocket, and the cover is lovely. The content is calm and wise and all in all it’s a spiritually comforting book in every way which reminds you of what is beautiful in life. If we fully enter a poem it can feel like we are in meditation, where we are paying quiet attention to just what is. There are also five invaluable writing prompts plus several specific meditations that relate to poetry.
